Baggage Policy

Personal Baggage Policy on Domestic Flights:

Maximum domestic flight baggage allowance (excluding Arkia Low Cost flights) is 23kg. Baggage exceeding this weight incurs an excess baggage charge. Under the regulations, all baggage on Arkia Low Cost flights is subject to a baggage fee.

In addition, each passenger may board with one carry-on weighing maximum 7kg and measuring maximum 20x40x55cm. Carry-on baggage must be stored in the overhead baggage compartment or under the seat in front of the passenger.

Hand luggage will be weighed at the airport and if it exceeds the allowance, it will be sent in the cargo hold. Regardless of excess weight, kindly note that, under IATA rules and regulations, baggage items weighing over 23kg cannot be transported.

Fragile, Perishable and/or Valuable Baggage:

These items should be wrapped carefully. Arkia does its utmost to transport your baggage safely. However, under the terms of the baggage contract of carriage, the company is not responsible for fragile, perishable and/or valuable baggage. When checking in, it is advisable to inform Arkia ground crew of any fragile items in the baggage so they may place a fragile sticker on the baggage.

A tag with your full name and contact information must be attached to your baggage and hand luggage. We also recommend insuring your baggage through your personal travel insurance policy.

Personal Baggage Policy on International Flights:

Ticket prices do not include baggage.
You can board the plane with hand luggage with dimensions of 20 x 40 x 55 cm. and weighing up to 7 kg.
When you buy your ticket and/or at any other time prior to the start of the check-in process, you can purchase a baggage allowance.
The price of a checked luggage when checking in for flight at the airport (check-in) is higher than the price offered in advance booking.

Overweight will be charged for as mentioned above.

Any passenger who has purchased baggage allowance, may send baggage weighing up to 23 kg.  Baggage weighing more than this amount will be charged overweight charges according to the tariffs current on the date of the flight.

In addition, every passenger may take an item of hand luggage weighing up to 7kg and measuring up to 20 x 40 x 55 cm.  Hand luggage must be stored in the overhead cabinets or in the space underneath the seat in front of the passenger.

When you arrive at the airport, an Arkia representative will check your hand luggage. If it is found to exceed the size restrictions and weight permitted for the cabin, it will be sent to the hold of the airplane.  You will be charged for baggage allowance in accordance with the conditions of your ticket.
Please note: Without connection to the payment in respect of overweight baggage, you cannot take any item weighing over 32kg. according to the laws of IATA (International Air Transport Association).
In a number of countries, such as Denmark, there is an additional restriction and the maximum weight permitted for a single item of baggage, is restricted to 30 kg.

Traveling with Pets:

The payment for pets is calculated according to weight of the pet plus the cage multiplied by the excess rate per kg valid on the date of departure. The minimum charge is based on 3kg excess weight.

The passenger must provide a cage, muzzle (for dogs) and bring all the required documentation for the pet to enter the destination country (e.g.: For pets to Europe, the following must be prepared by a veterinarian: blood test results, official certificate for all the vaccinations required and microchip or tattoo confirmation).
